MANILA — Megastar Sharon Cuneta has nothing but admiration for Coco Martin, calling him a “genius” and expressing her willingness to make a special appearance in his hit series, Batang Quiapo.
Cuneta on Coco’s Work Ethic
In an interview at a recent insurance brand event, Cuneta reminisced about working with Martin in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano and was amazed by his multi-tasking skills as an actor, director, and writer.
“Coco is a genius in the real sense of the word. I never worked with someone I was so amazed by.”
She described how Martin would personally dictate dialogue to his assistants while directing and acting at the same time.
“I have never, in my whole life, seen someone who is a genius at work. And this happened every single day.”
Willing to Appear in Batang Quiapo
When asked if she would be open to joining Batang Quiapo, Cuneta said:
“Anytime. Anak ko ‘yun eh.” (Anytime. He’s like my son.)
She jokingly added:
“Wag lang bold. Payag ako. Pero on second thought, dream ko ‘yun – maging bold star.” (Just not bold. I agree. But on second thought, that’s my dream—to be a bold star.)
Close Ties with Coco & Julia Montes
Cuneta also revealed her close relationship with Coco and his longtime girlfriend, Julia Montes, saying she considers them like family.
“They’re like my kids. Kulang na lang, ipinanganak ko sila.” (The only thing missing is that I didn’t give birth to them.)
She also defended the couple from criticism over their age gap, saying:
“I don’t like it when people judge them because of their age gap. They love each other very much. They are happy together.”
Cuneta previously worked with Montes in the drama Saving Grace, further strengthening their bond.
With Batang Quiapo continuing to dominate primetime, fans are excited about the possibility of the Megastar making a guest appearance!
