On a recent episode of Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition, housemates Shuvee Etrata and Bianca De Vera opened up about being labeled as “starlets” by bashers online — a term often used to belittle rising female celebrities.
During a task where housemates had to recall the harshest online criticisms they’ve faced, Shuvee shared that she’s often mocked as the “Starlet ng Kamuning.” She admitted that the label stings, especially when she’s simply trying to give her best.
“It hurts when people call me that even when I’m working hard,” she said in the confession room. Still, she expressed gratitude for GMA Network’s belief in her potential. “That trust is enough for me to prove myself,” she added.
Bianca De Vera also revealed receiving similar flak, being called “Starlet ng Ignacia.” Despite the noise, she remains grounded and appreciative of the opportunities given to her.
“Maybe people say that because they think I don’t deserve my roles. But I know the team at Ignacia loves and believes in me — that’s why I’m here in PBB,” she said.
