Rev. Fr. Dean Simon Bayna Peña, JD, a priest from the Diocese of Sorsogon, is among the 3,962 successful examinees of the 2024 Bar Exams, according to a congratulatory post on the diocese’s Facebook page.
The Bar Exams, held in September 2024, saw 10,483 aspiring lawyers taking the rigorous test. The passing grade was set at 74%, and this year’s passers slightly exceeded last year’s total of 3,812.

Kyle Christian Tutor from the University of the Philippines College of Law topped the Bar Exams with an overall rating of 85.7700%.
Further details about Rev. Fr. Peña’s achievement and future plans have yet to be shared by the Diocese of Sorsogon.
