MANILA – With a demanding schedule ahead for both Barangay Ginebra and Gilas Pilipinas, head coach Tim Cone is taking precautionary measures to manage Justin Brownlee’s workload.

Brownlee is set to compete in a series of friendly matches in Doha before leading Gilas in their FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers campaign. He will then return to the PBA semifinals with Ginebra in their best-of-seven showdown against NorthPort in the Commissioner’s Cup.

“We want to make sure we don’t overuse him,” Cone said, adding that AJ Edu and June Mar Fajardo will also be under load management to keep them fresh for crucial games against Chinese Taipei (Feb. 20) and New Zealand (Feb. 23).

Despite the intense schedule, Brownlee remains focused on improving his game. “I’m definitely not going to take a break, but I will try to take it lightly. I want to be sharp for both Gilas and Ginebra,” he said.
