MANILA – Social media personality and entrepreneur Rosmar Tan has officially withdrawn her candidacy for Manila’s 1st District councilor in the upcoming 2025 elections.
Tan, whose real name is Rosemarie Tan Pamulaklakin, personally appeared at the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) on Thursday to formalize her withdrawal. She had previously hinted at her decision in a Facebook post, stating:
“Para sa ikatatamihik ng lahat, magwi-withdraw na po ako sa pagtakbo pero tuloy pa rin ang pagtulong sa mga tao.” (For everyone’s peace, I am withdrawing from the race, but I will continue helping people.)
She did not disclose specific reasons for stepping down.
Tan was among nearly 100 celebrities and influencers who filed their Certificates of Candidacy (COCs) in October 2024. Aside from her online presence, she is a businesswoman, managing a beauty product line, pet spa, salon, and multiple restaurants.
