Vice President Sara Duterte humorously described her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, as the “Best Dramatic Actor” following his appearance at the House Quad Committee (QuadComm) investigation into his administration’s war on drugs.

Speaking on Friday, VP Sara revealed that her father asked her to rate his performance at the probe held earlier in the week. “I gave him a 12 out of 10,” she said with a laugh.

When pressed for further explanation, she cryptically remarked, “Kayo na lang umintindi. Nakikita ninyo naman sa ginagawa niya (It’s up to you to interpret. You’ve seen his actions).”

Daring the ICC

During the QuadComm inquiry, former President Duterte challenged the International Criminal Court (ICC) to investigate him over alleged drug war-related deaths, saying he didn’t want to pass away without being scrutinized.

VP Sara’s Attendance

The Vice President also attended the inquiry, citing concern for her father’s health. “I visited him because he usually doesn’t listen to the people around him. His companions told me he had been up since 6 a.m., and by 10:30 p.m., they were worried his blood sugar might drop because he hadn’t eaten,” she said.

She added, “I asked if he could be excused, but he initially refused. He only agreed when we emphasized the need for him to eat.”

Former President’s Allies Present

The elder Duterte was joined at the hearing by several close allies, including former Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea, former Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo, former Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III, and his legal counsel Martin Delgra III.

Despite brief breaks, Duterte stayed engaged. He was seen eating around 5:30 p.m. but quickly resumed answering questions, including one from 1-Rider party-list Representative Rodge Gutierrez about drug lists alongside Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Chief Moro Lazo.
