Vice President Sara Duterte extended her warm greetings to the Muslim community on Friday as they observed Eid’l Adha, emphasizing that the celebration should inspire all Filipinos to embrace sacrifice, faith, and kindness in both personal and national life.
In a video message, Duterte reflected on the occasion’s deeper meaning, noting that Eid’l Adha—also known as the Feast of Sacrifice—offers a timely reminder of essential virtues.
“May this occasion remind us of the value of sacrifice, faith, and goodwill—principles vital not only to our faith but to our daily lives as a nation,” she said in Filipino.
She added that the celebration reinforces the need for courage, generosity, and compassion, particularly in these challenging times.
Eid’l Adha is one of Islam’s two major holidays, celebrated worldwide through prayer, reflection, and acts of charity. It commemorates the story of Prophet Ibrahim’s unwavering faith and willingness to sacrifice in obedience to God.
