Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte is on an official visit to Cambodia, fulfilling her responsibilities as the council president of the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO). Her trip, which began with her arrival in Phnom Penh, includes strategic meetings aimed at enhancing educational cooperation between the Philippines and Cambodia.

During her visit, VP Duterte is scheduled to meet with Cambodian education officials, including the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Education, Youth and Sport, to discuss potential collaborations and support in the education sector. Her agenda also features visits to the SEAMEO Regional Centre for Technical Education Development and local schools, underscoring her commitment to educational development in the region.

In addition to her official duties, VP Duterte plans to engage with the Filipino community in Cambodia, highlighting the significant presence of Filipino educators in the country. With a considerable number of overseas Filipino workers in Cambodia employed as teachers, her visit emphasizes the Philippines’ role in contributing to educational advancements in Southeast Asia.
