Vice President Sara Duterte revealed that she no longer has any relationship with President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., with whom she ran and won in the 2022 elections as part of the UniTeam ticket.
In a report by Marisol Abdurahman on “24 Oras,” Duterte mentioned she hasn’t communicated with Marcos since her resignation from the Cabinet. “We haven’t seen each other or spoken, so I have no description of our relationship now,” Duterte stated.
On Wednesday, Duterte criticized the Philippine government, including the House of Representatives, for not addressing issues in health, security, infrastructure, and foreign interference adequately. In a detailed statement to the Muslim community, she accused the country’s leaders of being disloyal to their duties.
“Those reacting publicly and privately to my statements are the ones affected by my criticisms,” Duterte said, pointing to officials she believes are unfaithful to their service and duties to the nation.
Duterte expressed surprise over the results of the OCTA Research Survey, which showed a decline in pro-Duterte Filipinos. “It’s shocking to see a survey asking if you’re pro-Marcos or pro-Duterte. They should ask if you’re pro-Philippines. I’m sure everyone would support that,” she commented.
She further insinuated that the motive behind political actions is the desire for perpetual power. “It’s clear that the motive is to stay in power indefinitely, to destroy anyone who gets in the way, regardless of the truth,” Duterte said.
