Previously owned and then abandoned as his family moved to a new residence, Wally was inadvertently sealed inside a wall during construction activities at an apartment building. The new tenants heard his desperate barks and alerted local officials, which led to PETA being called in for a dramatic rescue.
Upon rescue, Wally was found in a severe state—emaciated and with numerous injuries from his attempts to escape. He survived by drinking water from nearby drainage, a testament to his will to live despite the dire circumstances.
PETA provided immediate veterinary care and placed Wally in a foster home under the Ampon Alaga program, which aims to address the companion animal overpopulation crisis. Since his rescue, Wally has recovered significantly, gaining weight and strength each day.
