On the latest episode of Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition, Sparkle actor Will Ashley got real about why he struggles to open up to others emotionally.
Following his nomination alongside fellow housemate River Joseph, Will shared that he often holds back because he doesn’t want to feel like a burden. “It’s something I’ve been working on, but I still find it hard. Every time I open up, I worry that it’s not helpful, just heavy,” he said during a heart-to-heart with River.
Although River encouraged him to express himself freely, Will admitted that being open isn’t his natural coping mechanism. “Even on day one, I was super quiet. It’s tough to open up,” he added.
The emotional walls came down even more when Will spoke in the confession room about missing his mom, who raised him after his father passed away. “She once planned to work abroad, but I asked her not to. It was just the two of us. I just want her to be happy,” he shared through tears.
Will explained that he’s guarded because he once confided in someone who later betrayed his trust. “I became too comfortable and told them everything. But then they used it against me,” he recalled.
PBB’s “Kuya” reminded Will that sharing is part of the experience inside the house. “It’s about building connections. I understand your fears, but don’t let them stop you. Your mom would likely say the same.”
