The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) is preparing for a surge in air travel over the next few weeks, forecasting that around 5.8 million passengers will transit through Philippine airports between October and November.
In its official statement, CAAP highlighted that the increase is largely driven by the holiday season, returning overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), and elevated travel demand domestically and internationally. The regulator says airport operators and airlines have been asked to heighten their readiness, with a focus on crowd management, flight schedule coordination, security protocols, and passenger comfort.
With large passenger volumes expected, airport authorities are also urging travelers to arrive early, check flight statuses, and prepare for potential congestion at check-in, security checkpoints, and boarding gates. Timely coordination among the government, airport operators, and airlines will be key in maintaining smooth operations during the peak period.
