Dismissed Bamban, Tarlac mayor Alice Guo is suspected to have a lung infection, according to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP). An X-ray conducted by the Philippine National Police (PNP) revealed findings of a possible lung infection, BJMP spokesperson Jail Superintendent Jayrex Joseph Bustinera said in an interview on Monday.
Due to her condition, Guo has been placed in a cell with three inmates who are being treated for tuberculosis (TB). According to Bustinera, these inmates have been undergoing treatment for almost a month. Guo will remain there until her condition is confirmed to protect the general population of the Pasig City Jail Female Dormitory.
Guo is currently undergoing a sputum test to determine if she has TB. If the results are negative, she will be moved to the general population.
Guo was transferred from the PNP Custodial Center in Camp Crame to the Pasig City Jail on Monday morning as part of a court order from the Pasig City Regional Trial Court-Branch 167, which is handling her non-bailable case for qualified human trafficking.
