The Albay police reported that one more official from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), who is implicated in a flood control corruption case, could not be found when they attempted to serve an arrest warrant.
Authorities said a warrant was issued by the Sandiganbayan’s Sixth Division for charges of malversation of public funds and falsification of public documents, with no-bail recommended.
When police went to the suspect’s home in Barangay Tagas, Daraga, Albay, his family said he had been in the area in October after returning from a trip to Masbate. However, he has not been located since, and his wife and mother believe he may be in Manila.
The missing executive is among several being pursued in connection to flood control projects under investigation by the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI).
