President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. expressed his satisfaction with the recent OCTA survey, which indicates an increase in the number of Filipinos identifying as pro-Marcos in the second quarter of 2024.

At an event in Pampanga, Marcos addressed reporters, highlighting his happiness that more Filipinos are beginning to understand the administration’s goals. “Well, of course, good news lagi ‘yan, ‘yung maraming sumusuporta sa iyo. We don’t… Well, I’m sure the— ‘yung mga analysts diyan magsasabi kung anong mga tunay na ibig sabihin diyan,” Marcos said. “But I have to say that is nice to know that people are beginning to understand what we are trying to do.”

Marcos emphasized the government’s commitment to improving the lives of Filipinos, stating that their decisions are not driven by surveys but by the desire to enhance the country’s status. “We don’t decide for the surveys. We decide to improve the status of the country. So we will continue what we are doing,” he added.

The OCTA Tugon ng Masa (TNM) survey revealed that the percentage of pro-Marcos Filipinos rose to 36% in June 2024 from 31% in March. In contrast, the percentage of pro-Duterte Filipinos decreased from 20% in March to 16% in June.

Support for Marcos and his administration was highest in the National Capital Region (NCR) at 43% and lowest in Mindanao at 25%. Other regions with significant support include the Cordillera Administrative Region (83%), Ilocos Region (60%), Cagayan Valley (79%), MIMAROPA (69%), and Eastern Visayas (75%).
