MANILA, Philippines – A Cebu barangay chief and his wife were shot dead by an unidentified riding-in-tandem in Cebu this Tuesday morning, March 14.
Authorities identified the victims as Barangay Manguiao, Asturias Captain Mario Delfin Tundag, 57-years-old, and Edna Awit Tundag, 49-years-old.
According to Police Major Alden Zambrano, chief of the Asturias Police Station, the couple was riding a motorcycle when the shooting happened.
The CCTV camera caught the two suspects following the couple on another motorcycle around 9:00 this Tuesday in Barangay Poblacion Uno.
The assailants followed the Tundag couple’s vehicle and when they got close, the riding victims shot.
The suspects immediately turned away from the scene of the crime when the couple fell on the street and died immediately.
According to Zambrano, one of the angles being looked at is politics.
Authorities are continuing the investigation to determine the motive for the murder.
