The entire island of Cebu has registered a total of 5,217 new COVID-19 cases with a total of 405 deaths from September 1 to 12, 2021.
Department of Health-7 daily bulletin on COVID-19 shows that Cebu Province has the highest cases with 2,435, followed by Cebu City with 1,445 cases, Lapu-Lapu City with 762 cases and Mandaue City with 575 cases.
In terms of deaths, Cebu Province has the highest number with 305, followed by Cebu City, 57; Mandaue City, 31; and Lapu-Lapu City, 12.
Data futher shows from the start of the pandemic last year up to today, that of the 33,725 total COVID-19 cases in Cebu Province, 28,024 have recovered and 3,822 cases have remained active. Total deaths is 1,879.
Cebu City, once tagged as the COVID-19 Capital in the Philippines last year has logged a total of 39,317 cases with 34,905 recoveries. It has a total deaths of 1,225. It has still an active cases of 3,187.
Lapu-Lapu City, the place of the famous Battle of Mactan, has an active cases of 1,096. It has a total of 12,753 cases but 11,127 have already covered. Total deaths is 324.
While Mandaue City, famous for its delicacies, Bibingka and Masareal, registered 10,009 recoveries out of its 11,449 total cases with 344 deaths. It has now an active cases of 1,096.
