Legazpi City – Police operatives busted the number one fugitive from Albay facing numerous complaints for the crime of rape.
Police Lt. Col. Maria Luisa Calubaquib said that the suspect identified as Gregorio Basmayor Bobiles Sr., 69 years old, a resident of Purok 1, Barangay 10, Bacacay, Albay, and currently residing at Carusipan village in Cabugao, Ilocos Sur was nabbed in Ilocos Sur today March 20, 2023.
Bobiles Sr. is charged with the crime of statutory rape with no bail recommended; two counts of qualified rape by sexual assault with P200,000.00 bail recommended each case; and two counts of acts of lasciviousness with P180,000.00 bail recommended each case.
The accused is now under the custody of Cabugao municipal police station for documentation prior turnover to Bacacay municipal police for proper disposition.
Calubaquib said that the concerted efforts of Cabugao municipal police station in Ilocos Sur, PRO1 and Bacacay MPS-Albay PPO paid off with the arrest of the rank one provincial most wanted person in Albay.
Due to this, PBGen. Westrimundo D. Obinque, Bicol police regional director lauded the operating team of PNP-Bicol and Ilocos Sur for their well-established cooperation that led the arrest of the accused.
“We continue to uphold police intelligence efforts in order to trace and uncover the place where fugitives of law are hiding from authorities,” the Bicol top cop said. (Raydes B. Barcia)
