A Pasig City court has ordered a temporary suspension of former Bamban, Tarlac mayor Alice Guo’s transfer to the Pasig City Jail Female Dormitory from the PNP Custodial Center in Camp Crame, Quezon City. The decision is intended to safeguard her rights as her legal team pursues remedies under the Rules of Court.

The transfer, which took place on Monday morning, had been previously directed by the Pasig City Regional Trial Court-Branch 167 in relation to Guo’s non-bailable case of qualified human trafficking. However, Guo’s legal counsel, Atty. Nicole Jamilla, filed an urgent motion citing security concerns, leading the court to put the move on hold.

A hearing on Guo’s motion is scheduled for September 27, alongside her arraignment. Her legal team is now working with authorities to coordinate her return to the PNP Custodial Center pending further court orders.

Bureau of Jail Management and Penology spokesperson Jayrex Joseph confirmed the agency’s readiness to comply with any future orders regarding her custody.
