Zamboangueños will no longer have to travel to other cities in Mindanao just to have a taste of Starbucks, as the American multinational coffeehouse chain opened its first outlet in Zamboanga City this morning, February 21.
Starbucks Philippines, through their official Facebook page, also announced their opening in Asia’s Latin City.
“Hola! Taqui ya el Starbucks na Ciudad de Zamboanga (Hello! Starbucks is finally here in Zamboanga),” shared Starbucks Philippines in their post.
Mayor John Dalipe of Zamboanga City welcomed Starbucks and thanked the company’s management for their confidence in making an investment in their city.
Dalipe believes that the opening of the coffee-giant’s first branch in their region will help spur economic development not only in their city but also throughout the Zamboanga Peninsula.
He also disclosed that Starbucks had hired 18 Zamboangueños to be part of their crew and trained them in Cebu in order to guarantee seamless service and an enjoyable experience.
Starbucks Zamboanga is located at the ground level of SM City Mindpro, La Purisima Street corner Campaner Street, Barangay Zone III Poblacion, Zamboanga City, and is open to serve from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily.
