Heavy rains brought by the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) and the Northeast Monsoon caused flash floods in Alabel, Sarangani, affecting some 800 houses on Friday.
Residents from five barangays sought refuge in evacuation centers, according to a report by Moristo Jun Pandamon of Super Radyo General Santos on Dobol B TV.

The Alabel Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) is assessing the extent of property damage caused by the flooding. Meanwhile, the local government unit (LGU) is actively providing assistance to displaced families, ensuring their safety and basic needs are met.
