An additional four more cases of Delta variant were found in Lapu-Lapu City, Department of Health-7 regional director Jaime Bernadas said.
The city now has a total of 23 Delta variant after 19 cases were found last July 29, 2021.
The recent cases were still part of the July 4 to 10 samples taken from Cebu, who has now a total of 36 Delta variant.
DOH-7 chief pathologist Mary Jean Loreche said that the four new cases, two are ten years old, 27 years old and a 60 years old. All of these were already recovered.
Loreche, who is also the spokesperson of the Visayas Vaccination Operation Center said that the results from the Philippine Genomic Center is not real time and by the time the results are released, the contract tracing and isolation is already done.
