Former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque and supporters of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) demanded the resignation of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. during an indignation rally held at Liwasang Bonifacio on Monday. The event was broadcast live on Roque’s Facebook page, where protestors could be seen holding placards reading “Marcos resign” and “BBM resign” alongside Philippine flags. Some signs also called for “justice for KOJC.”

“We firmly believe that the one who should lead the Philippines must be in the right mindset. Because if you’re high, you’ll drag your country into war,” Roque stated in his speech, a remark that was met with chants of “BBM resign” and “bangag” from the crowd.

Despite the heavy rain, the protestors declared their intention to stay, asserting they were not paid to protest.

This demonstration follows a separate protest by KOJC members in Davao City on Sunday evening. They gathered to oppose the police presence at the KOJC compound, where authorities have been attempting to arrest KOJC leader Apollo Quiboloy since Saturday, August 24. The police have vowed to remain at the site until Quiboloy is apprehended.

Quiboloy faces charges under the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act (Republic Act 7610) and a non-bailable Qualified Human Trafficking charge under Republic Act No. 9208. A P10 million reward has been offered for information leading to his arrest.
