Heart Evangelista, a Global Fashion Icon, recently shared insights into her journey to getting invited to prestigious fashion weeks in her latest vlog, “Back in Milan: Fashion Week, Reels, Drama, and more.”

Evangelista reminisced about her early days in the fashion industry, emphasizing her passion and love for fashion and creativity as the driving forces behind her initial involvement. “I entered fashion week, and it wasn’t a job,” she said. “It was passion.”

Starting as a member of the press, Evangelista acknowledged that her journey was far from easy. “I really went through the hard route,” she remarked, noting that she initially felt guilty for taking seats meant for press members. “Fashion week, for me, is a passion,” she reiterated.

Over time, Evangelista worked diligently to build her fashion portfolio and foster relationships with brands, establishing herself as a key opinion leader and influencer. “I truly want [the brands] to know who I am, and I don’t want to take anybody’s seat,” she explained, underscoring the importance of genuine connections. “I don’t mind being second or third [choice], as long as I’m invited as myself and I have a good relationship with the brand.”

Despite her success, Evangelista has faced challenges, including alleged attempts to sabotage her content. Earlier this month, she responded to rumors of her Paris Fashion Week content being sabotaged with a simple “Hayaan na.” In October last year, she spoke out about “dirty tactics” and a supposed “shadow ban” on her online content, claims which were later refuted by a TikTok executive.
