During a heartfelt moment inside the Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition house, Kira Balinger opened up to Kuya about her biggest motivation for joining the show—her family.
Kira shared that her parents’ unconventional love story deeply impacted her. Although they are no longer together, they chose to stay married for her sake, something she greatly values. “They’re sacrificing their own happiness for me,” she said emotionally.
She recalled the pain of her father’s departure when she was just 11, saying it forced her to grow up quickly. The experience made her feel like she missed out on her childhood, often haunted by the absence of a father figure. “I had to mature so early… and it really changed how I view love,” she confessed.
Seeing her mother suffer through the aftermath of the separation left a lasting mark on Kira. “There were days she couldn’t get out of bed. She just cried… but still tried for me,” she said.
Now, Kira dreams of reuniting her family under one roof. Winning PBB, she hopes, will give her the chance to provide them with a home where they can once again share meals, conversations, and simple joys together.
“That’s my biggest wish—to bring my parents back together, even just in the same home, so I can take care of them,” she said through tears.
Kuya comforted her, reminding her that true love doesn’t always follow a perfect story. “You are living proof of their love,” he told her.
