Days before the 2025 elections, former President Rodrigo Duterte urged Filipinos to “do good, fight for the country, and fight for what is right,” as shared by his daughter, Veronica “Kitty” Duterte, during a PDP Laban campaign rally in Muntinlupa City. Speaking alongside her mother, Honeylet Avanceña, Kitty revealed a recent conversation with Duterte, who is currently detained in The Hague over charges of crimes against humanity tied to his controversial war on drugs.
Kitty conveyed her father’s message of love and pride, along with a hopeful note: “This is not forever—God will intervene.” She also encouraged the youth to stand up for what’s right, citing the importance of voting wisely in the upcoming May 12 elections. Urging support for the PDP Laban’s “DuterTEN” senatorial slate, she emphasized the need for leaders with genuine public service at heart.
The PDP Laban party, chaired by Duterte, held its final campaign rally Wednesday and is set to wrap up its campaign with a miting de avance at Liwasang Bonifacio in Manila on May 8.
