The Lapu-Lapu City government will start vaccinating its 12 to 17 years old population starting tomorrow, November 3, 2021.

Mayor Junard Chan made this announcement through his Facebook post contending that only residents of the city of the said age group will be vaccinated with the COVID-19 vaccines yet.

The mayor however emphasized that this vaccination rollout is strictly “No walk-ins”.

“Kinahanglan gayud nga anaay madawat nga text sa skedule una mo adto sa vaccination site, maong palihug lang sa pag paabot sa inyong madawat nga text confirmation. Strictly walay walk-ins ug scheduling basis lang ang pasudlon sa Hoopsdome ugma,” Chan said.

The mayor added that based on the guidelines, only one parent or guardian is allowed to accompany every child at the vaccination center.

Chan also reminded the parents or guardian to bring the school identification of the child, original birth certificate of the child issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority or in the absence of an original birth certification, one must bring the original baptismal certificate or school record of the child with the name of the parents on it or barangay clearance signed by the barangay captain stating that she/he knows the child’s parents or valid identification of the parents that they are residents of the city.

For guardian who will accompany the child, must have an affidavit of guardianship and a valid ID showing he/she is a resident of the city.

The mayor further reminded the parent or guardian to bring the medical clearance issued by a physician if the child to be vaccinated is having comorbidities. (By: April Therese Tan)
