MANILA, Philippines – On Wednesday, March 22, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. reassures security for Negros Oriental 3rd District Representative Arnolfo “Arnie” Teves when come back to the Philippines.
Marcos said that Teves will be provided “all kinds of security” and urged him to use his “private jet” to return in the country.
“To reassure him, we will provide all kinds of security, kung ano ‘yung gusto mo. Mayaman ka naman, may private jet ka, mag-landing ka kung saan mo gusto,” Marcos told the reporters in an interview.
“Sa air force base, mag-landing siya sa Basa. Papaligiran natin siya ng sundalo, walang makakalapit isang kilometro,” he added.
The President also said that if his decision would be late, the government will be forced to “move without any discussions with him.”
Teves, who is being investigated for being allegedly involved in Governor Roel Degamo’s killing, is facing multiple murder complaint over a series of killings in 2019, including Negros Oriental board member Miguel Dungog slay.
Marcos also believes that the root cause of his situation is not about the e-sabong, but the murder of Degamo.
“This is not what this is about… This is about the killing of Governor Degamo, plain and simple,” he said.
Last Tuesday night, Teves posted a video on his social media page where he said that he has been receiving death threats.
