YouTube superstar MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, is officially engaged to girlfriend Thea Booysen!
Donaldson shared the happy news on Instagram, posting photos of the romantic proposal with the caption, “Ya boy did a thing.”
In an exclusive with People, the couple revealed that the engagement took place on Christmas Day, surrounded by family. Donaldson described the moment:
“I intentionally dropped a large box to make some noise before presenting the real gift — the ring — to her. Then, I got down on one knee and proposed.”
Known for his grand YouTube stunts, MrBeast opted for a quieter approach, emphasizing intimacy. “Thea is really close to her family, so I wanted to include them in this momentous occasion. Christmas was perfect since her family was in town from the other side of the world.”
The couple first met in 2022 while Donaldson was visiting South Africa, Thea’s home country. A mutual friend introduced them over dinner, sparking their romance.
As for their wedding, they’re planning an island celebration, far from the bustling world they’re often surrounded by.
