This developed as Wage Order No. ROVII-23 for Private Workers and Wage Order No. ROVII-D.W.03 for Domestic Workers takes effect starting today.

The Regional Tripartatite Wages and Productivity Board-7 has approved a P31.00 daily wage hike for all the workers in the private sector and the P500.00 monthly increase for domestic workers in Central Visayas, which comprises Cebu, Sijuijor, Negros Oriental and Bohol.

Under wage order number ROVII-23, it said that the wage increase shall apply to all minimum wage earners in the private sector within the region, regardless of their position, designation or status and irrespective of the method by which their wages are paid.

“The minimum wage rates prescribed under this Order shall be for the normal working hours which shall not exceed eight hours of work a day,” the wage order reads.

The new minimum wage rate will be from P5,000.00 to P5,500.00 per month for chartered cities and first class municipalities and from PP4,000.00 to P4,500.00 per month.
