Pope Francis has appointed Msgr. Glenn Montebon Corsiga as the new bishop of the Diocese of Ipil, located in Zamboanga Sibugay.
Corsiga, who has served as vicar general of the Diocese of Dumaguete and parish priest of Saint Augustine of Hippo in Bacong since 2020, brings decades of pastoral and academic experience to his new role.
Born on January 21, 1965 in Dumaguete City, Corsiga studied philosophy at Saint Joseph Seminary College and completed his theology studies at the Divine Word Seminary in Tagaytay. He was ordained a priest in 1993.
His early assignments included roles as parish vicar of Saint Catherine of Alexandria and parish priest of Saint Clare of Montefalco in Pasay City. He later served for many years in leadership roles at Saint Joseph Seminary College and as chaplain at Saint Paul University in Dumaguete.
From 2014, he was parish priest of Saint James the Greater in Tanjay and also served as episcopal vicar of the North District.
Corsiga is known for his dedication to both pastoral service and priestly formation, having mentored seminarians for over two decades.
