Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, leader of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC), has requested an extension of his medical furlough due to complications from a dental procedure. His lawyer, Atty. Israelito Torreon, revealed this on Friday.

Dental Complications

Quiboloy’s dental implants have caused an infection affecting his jaw, prompting the need for additional medical attention. “We requested an extension of medical furlough because there are matters to be addressed regarding his dental operation,” Torreon explained during an ambush interview.

However, the prosecution has opposed the extension request, which will be addressed in court.

Human Trafficking Case Continues

The Pasig City court is set to continue hearings on Quiboloy’s qualified human trafficking case. The charge, under Section 4(a) of Republic Act No. 9208, is non-bailable. Quiboloy also faces additional charges under Republic Act 7610, which protects children against abuse and exploitation.

Recent Medical History

Quiboloy, currently detained at the Philippine National Police Custodial Center in Camp Crame, was hospitalized at the Philippine Heart Center on November 8 after reporting chest discomfort. He returned to detention on November 16.

The court previously denied a plea from Quiboloy’s camp for hospital arrest.
