Ibinasura ng Korte Suprema ang disqualification at cancellation of certificate of candidacy (COC) cases laban kay President-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. nitong Martes.

Bumoto ang Korte ng 13-0 upang ibasura ang mga kaso laban kay Marcos sa kanilang en banc session nitong Martes, Hunyo 28, ayon sa Public Information Office. Dalawang mahistrado ang hindi nakibahagi sa botohan.

Hindi lumahok si Justice Antonio Kho dahil miyembro siya ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) nang magdesisyon sila sa kanilang antas, habang nag-inhibit din si Justice Henri Jean Paul Inting dahil kapatid niya si incumbent Comelec Commissioner Socorro Inting.

Wala pang inilabas na kopya ng desisyon, at ang press briefer na inilabas nitong Martes ay hindi naglalaman ng iba pang mga detalye maliban sa pagsasabing: “The Court held that in the exercise of its power to decide the present controversy led them to no other conclusion but that respondent Marcos Jr. is qualified to run for and be elected to public office.”

“Likewise, his COC, being valid and in accord with the pertinent law, was rightfully upheld by the Comelec,” ayon sa briefer.
