Fresh off his historic win on “The Voice USA,” Filipino singer Sofronio Vasquez made a triumphant homecoming on the noontime show “It’s Showtime.”
On Monday, Sofronio opened the program with a medley of songs, joined by “Tawag Ng Tanghalan” alumni and judges, including Nyoy Volante, Darren Espanto, and Yeng Constantino. For his finale, Sofronio delivered an emotional rendition of “A Million Dreams,” the same song that secured his victory in the finals of “The Voice USA.”
A Journey Rooted in ‘Tawag Ng Tanghalan’
During the segment, Sofronio reminisced about his journey, crediting “Tawag Ng Tanghalan” and “It’s Showtime” for kickstarting his career.
“Nag-reminisce lang ako. Every time na nag-a-audition ako sa mga competitions, ‘Tawag Ng Tanghalan’ ‘yung unang pumansin sa’kin,” he shared with tears in his eyes.
Vice Ganda hailed him as the pride of “Tawag Ng Tanghalan.”
Gratitude to Coach Michael Bublé
Sofronio also expressed heartfelt thanks to his “The Voice USA” coach, Michael Bublé.
“Gusto ko lang din po magpasalamat. I know he’s watching—Coach Michael Bublé, thank you for being a Filipino,” he said, acknowledging the coach’s support and connection to the Philippines.
