Itinalaga si Renato Solidum Jr. bilang bagong mamumuno sa Department of Science and Technology (DOST), inihayag ng Malacañang nitong Biyernes.
Kinumpirma ni Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles sa isang pahayag ang pagtalaga na ito ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
“We confirm the appointment of Mr. Renato Umali Solidum Jr. as Secretary of the Department of Science and Technology,” sinabi Cruz-Angele.
Si Solidum ay isang geologist na nagtrabaho sa Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology at naging DOST Undersecretary para sa Disaster Risk Reduction at Climate Change Adaptation bago ang kanyang bagong appointment.
Ang Office of the Press Secretary ay naglabas ng kopya ng liham na naglalaman ng appointment ni Solidum, na may petsang Hulyo 22 at nilagdaan ni Executive Secretary Victor Rodriguez.
“I am pleased to transmit your appointment letter, signed by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., as ad interim secretary (of the) Department of Science and Technology,” ayon sa liham.
