Bangkok police have been instructed to remove promotional items tied to a Philippine-licensed online casino that surfaced at the venue for the Miss Universe 2025 competition in Thailand. The casino in question, which is legal in the Philippines but illegal in Thailand, created controversy when its branding appeared at pageant-related activities.

Allegedly, several contestants were asked to appear in video shoots and photo ops featuring the casino’s logo and promotional materials, raising red flags for Thai authorities who view such endorsements as violations of local laws.

The Thai host committee of the pageant is now distancing itself from the sponsorship arrangement, saying the involvement of the casino brand was managed by the international pageant office and not by them directly. Meanwhile, Thai police are reviewing whether the promotional placement breached gambling advertising regulations ahead of the coronation night.

Pageant organisers are reported to be considering corrective measures, including removing the offending materials from venues and reviewing the legality of their sponsor roster — all in an effort to avoid legal repercussions and maintain the pageant’s integrity.
