The game began with a tense first quarter, where the Strong Group trailed slightly by two points. However, the team soon found its rhythm and dominated the second quarter, outscoring their opponents by ten points to secure a 44-36 lead by halftime. The momentum stayed with the Philippine squad, who managed to extend their lead to a significant 16 points in the dying minutes of the match.
Andre Roberson was at the forefront of the victory, delivering an impressive performance that nearly earned him a double-double, with 18 points and nine rebounds. He was not alone in his standout performance; Dwight Howard also made a substantial contribution with a double-double of 17 points and 12 rebounds. McKenzie Moore and Kevin Quiambao were instrumental as well, contributing 17 and 15 points respectively.
On the Moroccan side, Ramon Galloway and Tyler Williams gave commendable performances, scoring 27 and 20 points respectively. However, their efforts were not enough to thwart the Strong Group’s advance.
