The Valenzuela City Regional Trial Court has granted permission for dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo to attend the Senate’s ongoing investigation into illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs) on September 17, 2024. This decision comes after Senator Risa Hontiveros, chairperson of the Senate committee on women, children, family relations, and gender equality, formally requested Guo’s appearance.
The court’s order, signed by Presiding Judge Elena Amigo-Amano, directs the Philippine National Police Custodial Facility to transport Guo to the Senate, with strict security provided by the PNP Headquarters Support Service. The PNP is also required to submit a report on Guo’s transport and security.
Guo has been at the center of the Senate’s investigation into illegal POGOs, with previous reports suggesting she may have critical information about key figures involved in these operations.
