A witness connecting former Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo to Lin Xunhan, alleged leader of illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs), might be placed under the Witness Protection Program (WPP), according to the Department of Justice (DOJ).
Justice Undersecretary Nicholas Felix “Nicky” Ty noted on Monday that including this witness in the WPP depends on discussions between law enforcement and prosecutors.
The witness, previously employed by Lin—also known as “Boss Boga”—reported seeing Guo engaged in transactions with him. The witness identified Guo by her alias, “Madam Wah,” and described how Lin financially supported the establishment of Hongsheng Gaming, which later became Zun Yuan Technology in Bamban.
Further, the witness stated that Lin regularly provided funds to Guo, who would update him on the Baofu Land operations. This testimony is seen as crucial in the ongoing investigations, with the DOJ stating that Guo is already strongly implicated.
Alice Guo, also known as Guo Hua Ping, faces multiple charges, including human trafficking, graft, tax evasion, and money laundering. Authorities recently arrested Lin in Laguna.
