Actress Yasmien Kurdi is set to meet with Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary Sonny Angara on Thursday to discuss solutions and strategies for addressing bullying in schools, following her daughter Ayesha’s alleged experience with bullying.

On her Instagram Stories, Yasmien expressed gratitude to those who shared their personal stories of children facing similar challenges.

“Your bravery in opening up means so much to me, and it’s a reminder of the challenges so many families are facing,” she wrote, assuring concerned parents that their voices are being heard.

Yasmien pledged to use her platform to advocate for meaningful change, saying, “Together, we can shine a light on this issue and empower our kids to stand strong. Let’s fight bullying and protect our children.”

Earlier this month, Yasmien revealed that her daughter Ayesha was being bullied at school. In a follow-up post, she shared a disturbing photo of Ayesha’s picture cut into pieces, which she found on her daughter’s desk.

In heartfelt messages online, Yasmien apologized to Ayesha for what she has been going through, promising to always protect and stand by her. Yasmien’s husband, Rey Soldevilla Jr., also expressed his support for their daughter, writing, “Brave girl, Ayesha! Papa loves you so much!”

Yasmien remains committed to raising awareness about bullying, rallying her followers to join her in the fight against it under the hashtags #StopBullying and #AntiBullyingCampaign.
